Pakistan Post Establishes NADRA CNIC Registration Service Update:

Pakistan Post Establishes NADRA CNIC Registration Service. The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) is set to open registration counters at 200 post offices in rural areas to help people submit their applications for a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC).

An agreement to this effect was signed on Thursday (15-02-2018) by Nadra officials and the Pakistan Post. Federal Minister for Postal Services Maulana Amir Zaman, Nadra director general Nisar Mir and Pakistan Post chairperson Rubina Tayyab were present on the occasion. Pakistan Post Establishes NADRA CNIC Registration Service.

The major aim behind starting these counters in rural areas is to make it easy for the locals living in the rural and further areas as it is hard for them to travel to the metropolitan areas, and then stand in the long queues to get themselves registered for the CNICs. Pakistan Post Establishes NADRA CNIC Registration Service.

Nadra facilities will be available at post offices in Khairpur, Hyderabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Kallar Syedan, Dera Ismail Khan, Batkhela, Kuchlak, Mastung, Garhi Dupatta and Muzaffarabad.
CNICs for Transgenders

Recently, NADRA also started issuing CNICs to transgenders, by this lifting up their status in the country. Those with no information available of their biological parents would also be issued with CNICs.

Previously, transgenders were not provided with CNICs because they did not have valid or enough documentation to get themselves registered.
